My Favorite Healthy Snacks!


Hello! It’s Mac here with another helpful post! I’ve been trying to eat better and get back into shape lately (I’m looking at you corona lol). I thought I would share some of my favorite things to snack on the past few weeks. Don’t let the title fool you, these are some great (and great tasting) snacks that will satisfy your hunger.



1. Apple + Peanut Butter

The classic combo. There’s several ways you can change up the flavor depending on what type of apples and nut butter you use. I personally love Honeycrisp apples (so good!) and peanut butter. This one is also easy to prepare: simply cut up an apple, and spoon as much nut butter as you want. I typically eat 2 spoonfuls of peanut butter with 1 apple. You could also melt the peanut butter and drizzle it over the apple slices. Anyway, this is one of my favorites!


2. Yogurt + Berries

This is a recent favorite for me. I attempted this one as breakfast (which you could totally do if you want), but I was hungry again well before lunchtime lol. But as a snack, this lasts me 2-3 hours, so that’s pretty good. Here’s what I like to do: 3 spoonfuls of greek yogurt (you can use regular yogurt if you want), 3 or 4 strawberries sliced, 1 small handful of blueberries, granola (I use berry flavored granola), chia seeds (optional), and a little bit of peanut butter. This snack is completely customizable. You can choose whatever kinds of fruit you like and the toppings. I love how this one fills me up for several hours, which is hard to find for a teenager.


3. Toast + Peanut Butter + Strawberries

And last but not least is one that I’ve been loving for breakfast, but could totally be a snack. For breakfast, I eat 2 pieces of toast, but as a snack, I would eat 1. Here’s the instructions: toast 1 piece of your bread of choice (I eat whole wheat), wash and slice 3-4 strawberries, spread peanut butter (or whatever nut butter you want) on your toasted bread, and place the strawberries on top. This one takes a little more preparation, but it tastes so good.
