Hello! It’s Mac here with a new post! Even though many states are starting to open up again, many families are still in quarantine. At this point, we are all tired of staying home all day, so I wanted to share some activities to do while you and your family are in quarantine.
1. Call friends and family
I have struggled some with not seeing my family and friends during our lockdown. Even though I am an introvert, it’s important to get some social interaction throughout your day/week. You don’t have to talk for hours with your friends (although you can if you want to), just a few minutes to catch up with them and to see how they’re doing will help both of you.
2. Play games
If you’re in quarantine with your family, now is a great time to get out some old board games and card games. Playing games is a great way to take your mind off of the virus, and it’s a great way to bond with your family. Whether you play a classic like Monopoly, or a newer game like Heads Up! on your phone, any little bit of competition and fun in your day will help you feel better.
3. Try something new or get better at something you already know how to do
Now is the time to do the things you never have time to do, or to learn the things you’ve always wanted to learn. Learn that language, plant that garden, do that home project. Now’s the time to get stuff done. Personally, I’m improving my Spanish, working on my art/calligraphy, and reading new books. I’m currently reading this book. https://amzn.to/2CayiOf
4. Home Projects
Similar to the last one, if you have home projects that you never have time to do, now is the time to get them done. I have organized my desk and my closet, and next I’m going to sell or donate some of my old clothes. Some ideas for home projects are to clean and organize your kitchen or closets, build a planter for vegetables, and fix any little issues throughout your home. Make your home look good for when your friends can come over again!
5. At Home Theme Park Day
And last, but not least, an at-home vacation! This is a great one for kids and families to do together. Wake up and dress up like you would if you were going to your favorite theme park (in my case, Disney World!). Look up recipes for your favorite theme park meals and snacks. Watch Youtube videos of your favorite rides, and watch movies that the rides are based on. This is a great way to have fun with your favorite parks even though we can’t go visit them right now.
I hope you enjoyed this post! Check back next Friday for another fun post!
